REVERSAAL Research Unit welcomes Gabrielle Favreau, graduated from INSA Lyon in 2019 and specialized in Energy and Environment engineering.
Since 2008, the OFB (Office français de la Biodiversité) and INRAE have a research partnership for the development of sanitation in the DOM (Martinique, Mayotte, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Reunion Island). These research projects on the sanitation issues of small and medium-sized communities led by REVERSAAL Research Unit have enabled the adaptation of treatment wetlands to the tropical context.
Under this multi-year action funded by the OFB, new research priorities have been targeted for 2022-2024 to support the DOM communities towards more relevant urban water management strategies to the local context. Her mission consists in :
- Playing a part in the development of a GIS decision support tool to compare different sanitation scenarios.
- Analyzing the impact of the tropical context on technologies and strategies for rainwater source management and validate the necessary changes (emergence of one or several demonstrators)
- Developing demonstrators of planted drying beds to validate the rules suggested during the first actions of this partnership.
